Let me start by saying that this is by far the best case I have ever had for any phone I have ever had.MAGNETS! A 10lb rare earth magnet is built right into the case! Don't worry, this does not mess with your phones operation or signal, but it does let you attach your phone to any magnetically permeable surface (most refrigerators / metal desks / etc). I use this all the time while cooking to attach the phone to my stove and display recipes. I also find it handy at work (a machine shop) where I can attach my phone to a machine so my hands are free. NOTE: The magnets holding force is slightly diminished because of the rubber between the magnet and the surface. It is way more than sufficient to hold my phone to any immobile surface, just don't attach It to the hood of your car and go for a drive.Rockford mount: I didn't realize it when I ordered this case, but the package includes a Rockford mounting clip with a sticky back. I ended up cannibalizing an old car-window-mount and combining it with this adhesive clip to make my own car-mount for free. The adhesive backed clip holds the phone very securely. It took me a few weeks to get used to docking and un-docking with this adapter, but now it is very natural.Fit: the case is a 2 part unit that slides over the phone (half from either end) and clips together. When installing it I highly recommend putting the bottom on first and sliding the top portion till it clicks in place, I find that it is a lot easier to install this way.Function: has repeatedly saved my phone from 3-4 foot drops onto concrete and carpet. When I drop my phone (even screen down) the lip of the case prevents the screen from slapping the floor and crackingI've had several Rokform products. I had the original aluminum case for my iPhone 4, then moved to the poly case for the ability to mount it where I needed it. When I moved to an iPhone 5, I ordered the Rokbed for it without hesitation. I recently traded my iPhone for the Galaxy S3 and made sure to add the Rokform to the order so I could have it right away. As with all of the other Rokform products, this one doesn't disappoint. It fits extremely well, looks nice and is rugged. It doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone and doesn't have any play or slop in the fit. It mounted to my existing RMS firmly and also fits the Rokform Bike Mount on my Trek.I actually love their products so much that I typically base my phone-buying decisions on whether or not I can get a Rokform case for it.My only issue with this case is with the magnet. Because of the large size of the S3 and the position of the magnet, my phone won't stay horizontal. It wants to flop over. In vertical mode, if I don't stick it perfectly vertical, it has a tendency to want to flip over. This isn't a huge deal as I don't really use the magnet all that much, but it's worth mentioning. With the iPhone versions, the phone stayed completely horizontal and just had a more solid magnetic attraction to metal surfaces. I'm not sure if they could remedy this in future phones with a larger magnet or dual magnets or something, but it's not a deal-breaker at all.I hope this review is helpful and if you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out!I purchased this specifically to use the v3 system with my road bicycle. The case looks great, and it mounts securely to the Rokform v3 bike mount. This is all I really needed it for, so I'm happy with that. Now for the bad, which subtracted a star from overall review:I thought it might be nice to use the mount piece for the vehicle, too, since it was already included with the package. However, I opted not to even install it, because just attaching the case (with phone installed) to the mount piece in my hands, it did not feel secure. The phone rattled around on the mount. I think it would do just fine securing the phone, if the phone was attached horizontally. This is typically how I would mount it anyway. But I just didn't trust it, like I trusted the bike mount.Another complaint is that you need to adhere this super sticky tape to whatever surface you are mounting it to, and this is not going to be pleasant to remove when you decide to resell the vehicle. Might as well leave it in and inform the prospective buyer that it comes with the car :)The magnet is nice! Phone sticks to any metal surface :)This is bar none the best phone case. It's very study, with a nice lip around the edge, so if you just drop it, your phone will be well protected. It adds to the bulk of the phone, but less so than most competitors. The magnet is very cool. It works much better in vertical position. I've found absolutely no problems with reception. It's easy to hit all the buttons, insert a charger or headphones, and hit every spot on my screen. And the best part, of course, is the mounting hole on the case, and the matching adapter. I'm using it in my car, and it's so much better than suction cup mounts or any other phone mount I've tried. I was considering a new head unit for navigation, but instead I attached this hardpoint just below my radio. Not only do I have great navigation with traffic from my phone, but every time I upgrade my phone, I can just get a Rokform case for it, and it will mount up in my car.I've been using it for months, and it's showing no signs of wear at all. I'm very pleased with the purchase.Sturdy construction, but removable pad locks on so tight, near impossible to detatch without unsticking from permanent surface, making this feature useless.
